Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

Everybody Should Be Able To Plan A Visit

Maui Golf & Sports Park is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, whatever technology they browse with and however they interact with a page.

We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard used by governments and businesses worldwide to judge whether a website is accessible.

Conformance Status

Where We Stand Today

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that most of the standard is met, and that we know of some areas we have not yet been able to confirm.

The site has been designed and reviewed against the Level AA success criteria. It has not yet been through a full independent audit with assistive technology, so we describe our status honestly rather than claiming more than we have tested.

What We Have Built In

Accessibility Features

Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline
A "Skip to content" link that jumps past the navigation
Text and background colours meet the 4.5:1 contrast minimum
Photo slideshows can be paused, and never start when your device asks for reduced motion
Every photo carries a text description, or is marked as decoration
Headings, lists and tables are real headings, lists and tables, so a screen reader can navigate them
Forms have visible labels, and errors say what went wrong and where
The page reflows to a phone screen without side-to-side scrolling
Text can be enlarged to 200% without losing content
Nothing relies on colour alone to make its point

Being Honest

Known Limitations

We know about the following, and we are working on them:

Booking and ticketing. Buying tickets, booking a party and signing in to an account happen on Aluvii, a third-party system we do not control. We cannot guarantee its accessibility. If you hit a barrier there, call us and we will complete your booking over the phone.
Menus and flyers. Some menus are published as images. The items and prices are also written out on the page in text, so nothing is available only inside a picture.
The map. Our location is shown in an embedded Google map. The full street address is printed beside it as text, and there is a “Get directions” link for anyone who would rather not use the embedded map.
Older content. Material published before this statement may not fully meet the standard. Tell us what you need and we will supply it in another format.
